foreign talent.

well. i guess this is the perfect time to touch on issues relating to singapore’s pool of talent as well as foreign talent.

lets start with the Football Association of Singapore (FAS). Singapore had just been KICKED/THROWN/ELIMINATED/DUMPED out of the Asian World cup Qualifier. One of the Match Commentator and LOCAL soccer coach P.N. Sivaji mentioned that Singapore had managed to hold on to a respectable scoreline of 2-0. yeah. indeed. 2-0 is no big deal compared to the 7-3 thrashing by Uzbekistan. let me bring ur attention to the issue claimed by the commentator, ‘RESPECTABLE’. haiz. although Singapore did had a fair share of some clear cut chances, other than that chances, the team had nothing. they do not even looked like a SOCCER team. minus the ‘OUH SO NICE’ nike sponsored jerseys. the SG team could not even hold on to possession and another talking point raised by the match commentator, ‘the SG team could not managed to make 3 clean passes and could not even get out of the half-way line. actually they could. by jus pumping the ball to the other half. but tt is not soccer. u cant win a match by just playing a long ball approach and rely on few players to win the matches. we need a TEAM. a true SINGAPORE soccer team.

so whats about foreign talent. SG team had Precious Emuerajeye, the tall, huge player yet clumsy, john wilkinson, qiu li, daniel bennet, and few others. so did they performed? yeah. they ought to perform. they are given the citizenship and expect to raise the level of standard of soccer in the SG team. but not Precious. my opinion. lets use Precious as an example. he is too big, too slow, extremely clumsy and is often played out of position. its is obvious in the Saudi match that he had a not so exemplary foreign talent performance.. Precious was all over the pitch for all the wrong reason. i played soccer. i am a defender. i know what it is like to be out of position .

i played for a …. GRC team in the west? this was taken like 5 years ago? bottom left. peace

at least 1/3 of the starting 11 are foreign talent. n yet sg with foreign talents players cant raise the standard to match the Saudis. a Team full of Saudis. i do not see any Englismen, Nigerian??? n the saudis won.

i would extremely prefer a Singapore team, i mean all Singapore Sports team to have all pure SINGAPOREANS to play. it is more statisfying to win AND lose with a team made up of locals. at least we know where we Singaporean stand. the foreign talent is no much different from a local. both have two feets, a pair of lungs, a brain, … … … … etc. foreign talents are not machine or robot. they are not even marvel and capcom superheroes. even superheros dont always save the world. talents can be trained and nurtured. i pity those talented SINGAPORE soccer players that aren’t given the chance to perform. jus because there is a superhero. oops. a player that is ‘able’ to raise the level of standard of play. that is a foreign talent. if i were a FAS executive/official, i would be the Singapore Roman Abramovich. i would sacked the whole coaching staff of FAS. n not forgetting to mention, even e technical director, coach, fitness staff are ‘foreign talent’ yeah i’ll sack them. i will employ a coaching staff full of locals. n with $$$ i am sure the team will be motivated to perform. n the football youth academy should be modified too. arent a football academy ought to produce local players? i guess the youth coachin are made of foreign talents too?

do you think singapore will win and play good football if we employ jose mourinho as our coach? or scolari or alex ferguson? i dun think so. its the players that plays the game. start from the players. get fandi ahmad or sundrammoothy to coach. at least they can motivate better. i guess. since they were sg soccer icons and played singapore football. if sg were to import foreign talent, go and import ronaldo or nisterlrooy or torres etc. but do you think they can help to win? haha. no.

i am not against foreign talent. yeah they are good. they are good to raise the standard of play. but they are not good to play for singapore. locals can perform and may even outshine them. SG table tennis is another team that is full of foreign talent. how wonder how it is so easy for them to be given citizenship and play at top level. A good example is the SG atheletics where one of the field event player gave problems relating to training, competition etc. n guess what was the root of the problem? money. dey demand more money. n yet they didnt perform. even if they win a medal, whats so big deal. its nt a local sgporean. isnt it better to reward local sgporean to train and perform. arent we the taxpayers?

back to FAS. so is there a problem with their system? HELL yeah. where is the 2010 WORLD CUP dream? oops it is just only a dream. even if they come up with 2014 or 2018 WORLD CUP dream, it will still remain a dream unless they do something bout the foreign talent. coz i believe it is wasting money. tax payers money.

at least there are true singaporeans that is representing Sg for the Olympics. a true bred of local youth talent. the sprinter running for 100m. u think he can win? i dun care about the outcome bcoz he is a local trying to outplay his limits.

i came out with this Q & A. quite logical.

what do you call the people of singapore? multi-racial society

what do you call the people of singapore sports team? multi-foreigners society.

today’s Straitstime, the Saturday section with the Headline of ‘ WANTED ROAMERS to return’. why are they appealing to the talented singaporeans to come back. desperate? maybe.even the Prime minister raised the issue of singaporeans going abroad to seek for better excellent opportunities. why issit only now that they realised it is extremely important to hold on to local talent. maybe the foreign talents in singapore are not performing. maybe. maybe. one of the Singaporean based in United States was being interviewed. and her reason to come back to stay in SG is because a company offered double pay rise. she mentioned that the offer is too good not to turn down. $$$. thats the main pulling factor. if SG can pay foreigns huge payout, why cant sg locals earn tt payout? because the foreigns are foreign talent? and they are raising the standards of play/work? a singaporean can do that.

i think its time the ministry take real consideration in both the civil and private sector about the salary. inflation is the big talking point now. so its a no better time for the ministry to improve the cap salary and make it worthwhile for the local talents to stay in SG. i am sure the cabinet minister and local sg would not want to see a foreigner being a Singapore Prime minister in the future. i wouldnt want.

next. another article raised by a local on the Miss Singapore Universe’s Merlion costume.

photo taken by TNP. here

its been a topic of discussion on the design designed by a MALAY SINGAPOREAN. a Merlion theme. some say its ugly some says its creative. so Straitstime’s Life Section received opinions form the public on this.

i like this one. pure icing on the cake. by William Gwee. i assumed he is a local? haha

here it goes.

‘Miss Shenise Wong’s dress is bad enough but her hairdo is even worse. Although she is 26, she looks old for her age. She stands no chance against the other younger contestants. i would suggest that, next time, the organiser should get a young, pretty girl form CHINA, give her Singapore Citizenship and let her represent the Republic. After all, getting help from ” foreign talent” is part of Singapore’s culture’ – william gwee

totally singaporean. haha.

Last and for all SIA recruitment policy for pilots. i hope they review their recruitment policy. sorry. the singapore government should change the policy bcoz they are the ones tt made the policy for SIA to start recruiting TRUE SINGAPOREAN only at the age of 26. see the faq here.

the reason for the age ruling policy is to ensure RSAF has its ready pool of talent singaporean pilots. so if the malay minority that are not given the opportunity to fly with RSAF, they are at the losing end. coz to wait till 26 is very crucial. 26! people should be close to their peak at their respective careers. they cant possibly wait till 26. so whats the solution? go abroad.

and again. SIA are recruiting FOREIGN TALENT for their cadet pilot program. they come namely from HK, india, malaysia etc.

this is a big issue, coz i believe i am been affected by this. not really. but soon. and i might be one of those singaporeans looking out for better opportunity overseas. i may probably be based overseas too.

i consider myself a talent. if singapore consider myself as A talent, i hope they really adjust their pilot recruitment policy. coz they may yet lose another talent. which is ME. ME.ME!!!

but its only me. one person. one talent. it wont hurt much coz there are still another 4 million talent in sg? 4 million is real damn lot. its not a small figure. i am sure there are plenty of talents amongst the 4 million. the question is why still resort to foreign talent?

omg. i might be sued for this entry. at least i make my opinion across. a TRUE SINGAPOREAN point of view.

damn.
